Descriptions and Learning Objectives

Class One: Blueprint Information and Skills: 9 Positive Imprints and Early Adversity Resilience The roots of healing in this paradigm start with stabilization and creating positive coherent states. Coherency is a state of harmony, where the nervous system is within its window of presence. The felt sense ranges from states that are grounded, settled, connected, present and a sense of wholeness. A brief review of the window of presence, and the process of working with Blueprint and Imprints are presented during this class. The Nine Positive Imprints from early history will be presented and a set of experiences that support coherence and connection to self, other, community and beyond.

Learning Objectives. Participants will:

  • Review the autonomic nervous system states connected to the window of presence, including the Leading Edge and the skill of Calling a Pause.
  • Identify nine basic positive imprints from early life, and see how they can be transformed into a resilience score to help establish a blueprint state from which to work when healing early imprints.
  • Complete their own early adverse experience inventory.
  • Work with another participant to explore building coherence and the Blueprint to set the tone for the work to be done during class. Partners for all six classes will be set during this time for best results in class.

Class Two: Preconception Imprints: Tracking Angels, Ghosts and Echoes in the History and Creating a Coherent Story There are many tools that we can use when assessing transgenerational and intergenerational patterns. Completing a complete trauma-sensitive intake is hard to do in a balanced way. This class will explore first, the unpacking of Angels, following on the 9 positive imprints, then listening for Ghosts and Echoes, which are themes from the history of the person you are with. These narratives will be explored in this class, and participants will be asked to reflect on their own patterns. Each theme will be explored with the felt sense.

Learning Objectives. Participants will:

  • Learn about tools for harvesting Angels, Ghosts and Echoes in the history.
  • Help integrate these themes using the felt sense.
  • Apply somatic skills of working with the window of presence and the Leading Edge
  • Understand the importance of creating a coherent narrative.

Class Three: Conception as Embodiment Practice, Coming Into Form and Intentional Space This class will explore the blueprint/imprint of conception. Blueprint states connected to Conception include supporting parents to create an intentional space for the incoming spirit. Conception from the baby's experience is a tender bid for belonging. There is mystery and polarity regarding our coming into form. Participants will explore the theme around the Right to Exist. A blueprint/imprint map will be presented and experiential exercises will encourage a feeling of wholeness coming into form. Participants will also learn the Chitty Protocol, and be given ways to evoke a feeling of Recognition for our earliest experience of incarnation.

Learning objectives. Participants will:

  • Identify the blueprint/imprint theme of conception dynamics, and learn to seek ways to create blueprint/imprint healing dynamics.
  • Understand the polarity of the egg and the sperm journey according to prenatal and perinatal dynamics, and see the mystery at work in our incarnation through the work of Jaap Van Der Wal and the preconception attraction complex.
  • Experience conception dynamics to gain a felt sense of the blueprint/imprint from the inside out, and learn to navigate the territory of healing early imprints as a practitioner.

Class Four: Prenatal Imprints: The Four Crises of the Embryo There are many prenatal imprints and a long list of possible themes. The womb in our mothers is our first home. We are conceived and then begin a journey to make our body. There are four distinct thresholds where interruptions in our sequence can create possibility for the soul to go back to the invisible world. These thresholds can become a pattern, and also there can be imprints that come at each threshold. The desire to come into form can be strong, and the Principle of Choice is at play from a prenatal and perinatal dynamic. This class will explore these four thresholds, and breakouts will examine the question regarding the power of choice in our lives.

Learning Objectives. Participants will:

  • Learn basic embryology to illustrate these threshold moments in human development.
  • Examine patterns connected to the earliest experiences of the embryo.
  • Recognize embryonic gestures in the nonverbal communication, events, and patterns in human lives.

Class Five: Birth Imprints: Repairing Interruptions in the Sequence As pre and perinatal somatic therapists, we look for what we call "the birth sequence." It is a pattern that repeats: Intention, preparation, action, follow through and rest (integration). The biggest imprint that holds this pattern is birth, but it is also present in how we embody and make transitions. The pattern simply repeats, and there are many variations of this pattern. Sometimes (often), there are interruptions in the pattern, somewhere in the sequence. This class will describe some common interruptions and then present ways to help repair it. It will be an overview. Subsequent Leading Edge classes will talk about specific interruptions and wounds to the sequence starting preconception.

Learning objectives: Participants will:

  • Review how our connection to sequencing in our physiology and the Birth Sequence.
  • Learn a few of the common issues that arise with interruptions in the sequence and how they might show up in children and adults.
  • List applications for repairing interruptions (our wounds) in the sequence.

Class Six: After Birth Imprints: The Holding Healing Story to Help Babies and Families Trauma that occurs in the preconception, conception, prenatal and birth sequences can be healed after birth. The breast crawl is actually another sequence, so that can added to the sequencing we have identified during this profoundly somatic time. Prenatal and perinatal somatic therapists are trained to recognize interruptions, and then help parents and babies heal. The Holding Healing Story is a somatic way for parents to heal issues with births and pregnancies with their babies. It combines several different approaches. Practitioners help families identify the concentric rings of experience that starts preconception. Within each ring, the practitioner helps the family identify resources as well as challenges. Then parents can hold babies, as taught by Martha Welch and her Family Nurturing Science approach to begin a somatic dialogue with their babies. One case study will be presented. Practitioners will work on their own healing story.

Learning Objectives. Participants will:

  • Form a process that includes the early life narrative starting preconception that includes points of overwhelm and resource.
  • Create dialogues of verbal and somatic content when working with earliest trauma.
  • Identify their own patterns for their own healing stories.
