How the Course Works
The course is set to be "asynchronous" meaning that once you purchase, you can go through it at your own pace. You can also hire a mentor who can walk beside you and lead you through the processes that we present so you don't have to do the coure alone. These mentors are graduates of the Integrated Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamic program (IPPD), and can confidently help you with each section:
- Welcome and Introduction is a preparation to take the course. We outline the importance of finding Blueprint Practices, or coherency building actions and activites, feelings and sensations. Our mentors will be able to help you anchor them into your nervous system and relationship. It will also introduce you what we mean by early layers of experience. We have a distinct set of principles designed by one of the foundational teachers of prenatal and perinatal somatics, and we talk about the importance of safety through language that is in the course so that you feel included.
- Preconception/Incarnation and Early Parenting supports you to engage with your family lineage. This is what we call "Early Family Dynamics." When we incarnate, we each come into connection with our family's DNA. We know that issues, traumas and challenging experiences that are not integrated by those who have come before us are often handed down to the subsequent generations. Practices and information in this section will help you gently come into contact with your history through evidenced based tools, information and research. We teach parent and baby experiences, and help you apply them to your life. Preconception is a time when parents can create an intentional space to welcome incoming souls. We have meditations, practices and activities for you to engage in for clarity, connection and integration. Caring for babies preconception is called Early Parenting. We will lead you through connecting with yourself, partner and incoming baby.
- Pregnancy/Embryo and Inside Baby leads you through understanding the baby as a sentient being, aware and esquisitely sensitive. This section supports you to connect with your unborn baby, adopt bonding and attachment wisdom, and other actions as parents to help you and your baby move through pregnancy with greater ease. Welcoming a baby is an exciting time and also, it may be stressful. We offer education about stress during pregnancy, mindfullness and ways to care for yourself, especially bodywork. There are practices that may also help around creating layers of support. The course offers ways to support you and your baby in times of stress, and consider special conditions such as adoption and surrogacy.
- Gentle Birth Options/Birth from the Baby's Experience offers you a chance to learn about gentle birth options and how they may impact you and your baby. We also offer information about how early memory forms, and what we call the "Birth Sequence," or ways your baby (and you when you were a baby) may experience birth. There is excellent research that doulas and the midwifery model of care greatly improves birth and postpartum outcomes. We offer practices for you to prepare for challenges, and also create safety in the present.
-
Support for Families with Babies after Birth is where the course teaches about recovery; our practitioners excel here, "catching" families after birth. The IPPD mentors are trained in repair for difficult births. We also help you connect with your baby if there have been ruptures in your experiences together. We teach you how to see the baby's experience, listen and feel, and know what to do. Many challenging births are caught up in what we call "double binds" in the modern birth setting. Birthing families often feel stuck and confused about what happened if there were challenges and traumatic feelings, and they may blame themselves. These earliest experiences as a parent, and as a human are difficult. Parenthood and babyhood are very precious and important moments in our human development. We support you to clear up confusion and trauma here so you can all thrive.
Each section has information, exercises and practices for you to explore as parents.
We encourage you to engage the services of a mentor.
